EMC, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that Mr. Joe Ong will be the new Country Manager for EMC’s Singapore operations and will join the South Asia Leadership Team. Mr. Ong succeeds Mr. Richard Price, who has assumed a new regional position of Director, Commercial and Channel Sales and Partner and Alliances, in the South Asia region.

Mr. Ong brings to this position 14 years of IT experience and an impressive IT sales track record. He has been with EMC Singapore for 8 years. Prior to this promotion, Mr. Ong was the top District Sales Director for EMC Singapore for the two years he held that position. He was instrumental in helping EMC Singapore successfully identify new business opportunities and expand EMC’s market share. For three consecutive years from 2005 to 2007, Mr. Ong was awarded platinum membership to the EMC Club, a region-wide programme started in 2000 to recognise and reward the company’s highest sales performers.

Mr. Ong will report to Mr. Ron Goh, who is the President of EMC South Asia region.

Before joining EMC, Mr. Ong held a sales leadership position at IBM and later at Memorex Telex, where he twice earned the record of top sales performer.

Mr. Ong graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Computer Science from the National University of Singapore.
