Increases Rebates, Increases Partner Profitability, Expands Training Opportunities to Enable Partners to Deliver Services
Singapore - Wednesday, September 6, 2006
EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, today announced enhancements to its Velocity² Partner Program in the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region.

The company announced enhancements to the program including the introduction of:

• rebates;
• increased partner profitability; and
• more training opportunities to facilitate increased services revenue for partners.

EMC also announced that it will strengthen its regional Partner Support Centre and streamline internal systems and processes to make it easier for partners to work with EMC.

"EMC is focused on growing faster than the market in the Asia Pacific and Japan region, and our partners will by critical in achieving this growth rate," said Steve Leonard, Senior Vice President, EMC Corporation and President, EMC Asia Pacific and Japan. "Today approximately two-thirds of EMC's business in the APJ region is touched by the channel. I want that to steadily increase in the next 12 months.

"In order to do so, we are transforming our Partner Program to ensure that working with EMC translates into more business and more profitability for our partners. EMC already has the strongest Information Infrastructure technology and service offerings in the market, and we are getting stronger. We want our partners to play a key role in bringing these strengths to our customers," he added.

Changes to the EMC Velocity² Partner Program were welcomed by EMC's partner community. "The EMC Velocity² Partner Program enhancements add new and exciting opportunities for Datacraft as an EMC Signature partner. The changes to the program are a strong statement that EMC is serious about simplifying the partner program and aligning more closely with the partner community to bring the value of our joint offerings to existing and new clients as well as ensuring partner profitability in Asia Pacific/Japan," said Bill Padfield, CEO and Executive Director, Datacraft Asia Ltd. Datacraft Asia has been an EMC partner since 2002 and is part of the Dimension Data Group, which has a global strategic alliance with EMC.

EMC launched its Velocity² Partner Program in the Asia Pacific and Japan region in 2003 and today has more than 485 partners in 14 countries in the region.
EMC's Velocity² partners are assigned to one of five tiers depending on sales volume and the amount of certification and training they have achieved.
Earlier this year EMC launched a complementary worldwide channel program - EMC Velocity² SMB Partner Program for solution providers serving small and medium businesses (SMBs).

Designed for a range of partners, the program ensures success by helping partners work within their preferred business models. The addition of EMC Velocity² SMB to the overarching EMC Velocity² Partner Program ensures that partners carrying the EMC Insignia line of products are rewarded for their commitment and investment.

The EMC Insignia line includes a range of software and platform products including: the EMC CLARiiON AX150; EMC Retrospect; EMC RepliStor SMB Edition; EMC VisualSRM SMB Edition and; EMC eRoom SMB Edition. All of these products enable SMBs to store, manage, protect, and share their vital business information.

"The significant enhancements to the Velocity² Partner Program support EMC's commitment to building long term relationships with the channel. For Partners who complete the required training and certifications in the Velocity² Partner Program, there is significant upside," said Leonard. "With the Velocity² and Velocity² SMB Partner Programs EMC is making it easier and more profitable for partners of all business models to work with EMC."

EMC's Singapore Country Manager, Richard Price said that EMC is experiencing an evolution of its business to help organizations better manage their information.

"During the past five years EMC has successfully transformed itself from a storage vendor into the world's leading information management and storage provider," he said. "EMC values its partner relationships and will be working closely with all our partners to grow revenue."
